liveCD custom kernel and artwork, breezy

Hi, I have successfully built a custom breezy liveCD using info on the
LiveCDCustomizationHowTo.  The howto seems geared towards hoary but it worked
for breezy.

How do I get the liveCD to boot the newer updated kernel?

I have a custom bootsplash working, how do I change the ubuntu artwork that is
displayed during the boot process?
