audacity I/O error

ok, i had a similar issue, first of all close all programs that might
possibley be using the sound card you want audacity to read (mine was
dev/dsp1) then just to make sure you got them all open up terminal and
type in "killall esd" this should end all processes that are using that
sound card, then boot up audacity and check i guess >_>
