Where in the (universe?) is a package containing mc??? [midnight commander]

Hello. I'm addicted to being able to use the console application mc.

apt-get install mc didn't find it. (and yes I used apt-setup to get the
US repositories for everything I could turn on without having to manually
add the URL's first...

My guess s that the package it's in isn't named mc, But I don't know how
to ask apt-get to search what applications each potential package provides
to learn what the package name might be...

Is there a way to do that????

And/Or

Does anybody know what the package-name I'm looking for is???????
