japanese input capability in firefox (version 1.5) ???

Following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JapaneseInputHowToInBreezy, I have installed uim. I
can type japanese in gedit and in Xchat but how can i get Japanese input
capability in firefox 1.5?
