For the Cisco software, you can use their software if you want.  One ot fhe
benefits is that you can use the same configuration files they give you with
the Windows software.

If you are using the tg3 network driver, it doesn't like the Cisco vpn
software, so using vpnc as you are doing is probably the easiest.  The other
option is to drop the tg3 and use another driver, such as a Broadcom one.
