boot cd drive...
My Pentium 3 system has an dvd-rom drive on /dev/hdd which couldn't be
used for a default install... it failed when it tried to add other
packages to the base system. (it suggested I might need to re-burn the
install disk at a lower speed...) however the same installation cd worked
with my cd-r/cd-rw burner on /dev/hdb.
None of the following: gmplayer, ogle, and kscd ever complain about bad
reads from the dvd on /dev/hdd So I doubt the drive needs cleaning...
Is there a good reason why the installer should care which cd reading
device it's booting from???
