Hoary, Ugly fonts in some apps...

Maybe you sholud try with editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
In section Files, line with 75dpi fonts should go in front of line with
100dpi fonts.
Swaping that lines solved big font problem in emacs and xmms menus.
The same problem I had with debian sarge install at my work 1 year ago;
I have found that solution on some debian related forum, I think.
