Kickstart status, and maybe some help?

Where can I find details as to the current state of Kickstart under
Ubuntu? Hopefully there's more information (or more updated
information) than what's available in the wiki. I'll gladly update
the wiki if I know that I have recent info. :)
Specifically: I'm in the process of setting up a training room to
kickstart a dozen student PCs with Ubuntu 5.10 via a server running
Ubuntu 5.10. I'm booting the workstations with an Ubuntu 5.10 Install
CD, and it finds the ks.cfg via http when I type "linux
ks=http://192.168.4.2/kickstart/ks.cfg". The install begins, but it's
happening via the Ubuntu Install CD on the client workstation rather
than the install path provided in my ks.config file
(http://192.168.4.2/kickstart/, which is the root of the Ubuntu
Install CD that I copied to the install server's hard drive). Perhaps
I have the wrong path specified in ks.cfg? Or, maybe I need to boot
from a CD other than the Ubuntu Install CD. (Btw, these systems do
not have floppy drives.)
Although the install media that is being used is the local CD rather
than the specified http path, kickstart does seem to work in some ways
(running my %pre script: hdparm -d1 /dev/cdroms/cdrom0, and
partitioning the client hard drive and creating a default user) but
fails in other ways (not installing packages other than ubuntu-desktop
or running my %post commands).
Any ideas where I may be going wrong here? This is the first time
I've done anything with kickstart, and I find that the documentation
is vague at best, in many ways.
Thanks in advance for any help, and thanks to Colin and/or others who
have gotten Ubuntu kickstart working at least to the point that it's
at now. :)
