printer problems

Hi all.
I have ubuntu installed with CUPS.

I run the CUPS deamon as root. All ok.
I have set the permissions to port 631 with my ip.
I can see the interfacte to manage CUPS printers ok, but with de warning:


Administrative tasks have been disabled for security reasons. Please use 
Menu System > Administration > Printing.

When I go to the local indicated, the application does not open for a 
while, and then i get the error "Could not contact CUPS server".

I have googled it, but found no useful answer.

Any help?
