David, firstly, thanks for your posts on this nad my other probs.
As for how do I know, I just check my system resources after loggin in. The easiest way was using System Monitor.
Secondly, although I'm sure I can manage without the RAM, I have paid for it ;) so I'd like to use it but also, I don't kow if there would be other architecture implications for my machine if I don/t use a 686.

Not a big problem in the short term (you should be able to do most
everything without the 200MB). But you _still_ didn't say _how_
