kernel 2-6-12-9

 If I choose 2-6-12-9 kernel, when the system starts, instead of getting the debug [ok] messages printed, I just get a dark screen that slowly get whiter b4 the login screen appears.
 
 Also, the display shivers (shakes) as thougt it's running at too a high a resolution for the monitor.
 
 Any comments?
