LCD screen "melting" in X

I have same problem that you've rightly called "Living

in the 70s -- LSD involved", but it happens when I switch to console
(CTRL-Alt-F1): also for me it's impossible to get a proper screen
displayed and I have to restart system (CTRL-Alt-Del).



I have Acer Travelmate 8104WLMI with ati mobility X700 128MB onboard,
kubuntu 5.10 breezy with 2.6.12-10 kernel.

Only way to fix this problem for me is to switch back to breezy ati
driver, without tv-out.



I've tryied to use a different driver (8.19.10) but nothing changed.
I've configured my xorg.conf in one million of different ways with no
success.

I'm sorry but I can't help you, and I can't help myself! :)
