mutt/procmail mailbox modification times

I've just switched back to using Mutt/Procmail having used Evolution
since I upgraded to Breezy a month or so ago.

The problem I'm having is that the atime of the mailboxes is getting
set along with the mtime when Procmail delivers mail.  Consequently
Mutt can't see new mail in mailboxes (defined with Mutt's mailboxes
command) when changing folders with the directory browser (although
it finds it ok when you enter a folder that has new mail).

Anyone know what might be causing this or any workarounds?
