How to create a terabyte storage array?

Get yourself a decent RAID card. It will have multiple connectors to 
connect all the drives.
For example: with  a X port SATA RAID 5 controller you can create a 
maximum of (X-1)*hd-size storage array.
You'll have to use a SATA cable from the controller to the hd for each hd.

Another option (although less secure) is lvm.
