In which case my problem is not being able to access those themes.
I did a search and found:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/xcursor-themes.conffiles
/var/lib/dpkg/info/xcursor-themes.list
/var/lib/dpkg/info/xcursor-themes.md5sums
/var/cache/apt/archives/xcursor-themes_1.0.0-2_all.deb
/usr/share/doc/xcursor-themes
/usr/share/doc/xcursor-themes/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/xcursor-themes/copyright
/usr/share/mimelnk/image/x-xcursor.desktop
/usr/bin/xcursorgen
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/xcursor.pc
plus listings for libxcursor1

NONE of these are recognised by KDE's control centre as cursor themes.

SO there MUST be another way to access xcursor-themes. Help, please.
