The last version of Microsoft Windows that I had for home was Windows
98.
I switched to an iMac DVSE 400mhz as my main computer (video editing was
my thing) in the year 2000, and replaced Windows 98 with Redhat Linux.
Two or three years ago, I put together a new Intel-based desktop and
went the RedHat/Fedora route. I tried Ubuntu when it came out, and
ended up replacing Fedora with Warty. I still use my iMac, but only as
a spare when my wife is on the Linux machine. We don't do very much, so
it works fine. Listen to music, get email, browse the web, make music
mix CDs for the car.
