Eclipse and Free Java

Is it possible to use Eclipse with a free JavaVM with Ubuntu Hoary? I
found a description about that [1] but I wasn't able to run Eclipse.
Maybe my mistake was to use a downloaded binary Eclipse version and not
to compile it from the source. Has anybody managed to do this
successfully? I would be interested to hear from your experiences or
maybe get some hints. Will there be an Eclipse package based on a free
JavaVM in Breezy? (I still use Hoary since I prefer a stable working
environment)
