Karamba on Gnome?

Do you need to install any other KDE packages or will it work fine
without them?  I used gdesklets before and it ate ALOT of memory, anyone
know if this is as bad?  I am interested in some eye candy like this,
but not if its going to be as mem. consuming as gdesklets was.
