Add/Remove no longer displays

Thanks Dennis.  That was real easy to correct knowing what the conflict was.

For Sonmez (who indicated that he also had the problem):

I amended part of the "extra repository" change by "commenting out" the 
backports lines.  Then I went to Package Manager and removed the 
existing python-xdg and then reinstalled it (along with the 
gnome-app-install and ubunut-desktop which was removed with p-x).  Since 
the backports repositories were no longer accessed, the earlier version 
of p-x would be installed.

It works.
