NVidia binary driver for card unsupported in current driver

As far as I know they're all installed. I was able to build the thing
correctly a few weeks ago on whatever kernel version was available at
the time.

I'm using the 2.6.12-7-686 kernel, so maybe I should go back a few
versions and see what happens. Also interesting that my gcc pointed to
gcc-4.0 originally. It was the Nvidia installer itself that
recommended I use gcc-3.4, which it claimed was used to build my
kernel. Another thing to fiddle with. :o)

I DO have the same version of make that you do, so that's good.

Ouch. Looking at log files makes my head hurt. :o)  I think I need
sleep. I'll try booting a different kernel in the morning and see what
can be done from there. Thanks for looking up all that info Christoph!
