breezy: 'no dhcp user' after upgrade

I thought to give Breezy a try, and changed the 'hoary' mentions in /
etc/apt/sources.list to point to it.

Then, "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade", plus some
waiting..

Now, the system (Amilo L1300 laptop) is unusable; X11 does not start
and DHCP is not working either (complains: "no user dhcp" -- well,
what took it away?)

Is there anything I can do about this?
