Skype : no window pops-up

Hi
I have intalled skype under Ubuntu Hoary.
Sometimes, when launching skype, no window pops-up, no error message.
I know skype is running, and when other people write to me, a window 
finally pops-up, and I can call/chat with him, but that's all.

Conclusion : I can't write to other people, but other people can write 
to me.

Has anybody experienced this problem ?
