Starting .sh on startup

You should creat a desktop shortcut by:
a) right clicking on desktop
b) select "Create launcher"
c) type the name of the application in the "Name" field.
d) type the command (the application's address on your system, eg.
/home/your_user_name/tomcat/tomcat.sh) in the command field
e) assign an icon if you want to
f) press ok

To make the application startup on login:
a) Go to System ==> Preferences ==> Sessions on your gnome panel
b) click on the "Startup Programs" tab
c) click add
d) type the command (the application's address on your system, eg.
/home/your_user_name/tomcat/tomcat.sh) in the command field
e) press ok
f) press close
This will make teh program start on startup. To test it:
a) press Ctrl+Alt+F1
b) login
c) type sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
d) type sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start
e) login
