This usually occurs because a program is still accessing the cdrom.
 Check to see if you have a nautilus window open that is displaying
the cdrom contents.  Or perhaps the audio cd player is still looking
at the cd even though the song has finished playing.  I mention both
because you didn't state what kind of cd you have in the drive.
