Thanks for the link. FWIW, there's yet another ubuntu-users archive at:
http://archives.free.net.ph/list/ubuntu-users.en.html
I still like the Marc archives because of the breadth of its coverage, 
although my old eyes aren't happy about the clunky white-on-black interface.
