K3B, better: cdrecord is not able to burn cds on a scd0-device asnormal user

Yes that is the question, why does cdrecord go off and need to get to
/dev/sg0? This makes it a cdrecord problem (or another cdrecord
problem, seems most of the setup strangeness for cd writers over the
years has been to just get around cdrecord problems). I always assume
that it is a lost cause to understand the cdrecord problem, but to just
try and work around it.

so question is, should someone tell cdrecord that is shouldn't go off
and use /dev/sg0? Or should someone let ubuntu to make the /dev/sg0
part of the cdrom group? Or should the username of users be added to
the disk group?

What is the disk group anyway? Since the username is added to so many
other groups, why not add it to the disk group when the user is
created, is there something about the disk group that is block user
access?
