Just today, I insert a TV card which I bought 5 years ago or so in my
brand new AMD64 box.
lspci shows:
0000:05:06.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878
Video Capture (rev 02)
0000:05:06.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio
Capture (rev 02)

The card is working out of the box with Ubuntu 5.04. For the sound I had
to plug a cable from the line out of the TVcard to the line in of my
box. As far as I understand this, the TV card "only" provides a
framegrabber to get the TV signal digital and the sound is just, like on
a normal tv demodulated, and sent to the lineout of the TVcard. Thus,
your sound card has to do the work to have it inside your PC. But this
card is very old (one of the first TVcard for a good prise, these days
:-). Maybe things changed, and the TVcard will do the audio processing,
too. I have now idea.

I just were very happy that this old card is runing in my AMD64 Ubuntu
Box :-).

May this information helps you.

BTW, I use tvtime, too. Nice tool ;-).

Regards, Thomas
