I cannot login in after a fresh install, don't know root password, and it never asked me to create a user

For which we have gksu or kdesu. One thing I miss in kubuntu that was
standard in debian/kde was a "File manager as root" menu entry (or maybe
that was some other debian based distro - anyway, I had to create my own
for kubuntu).
