A bad one (that wasn't the question I asked).  I grew beyond apt-get months
ago.  Aptitude rules as a command line tool.  What I'm asking is "what is
it about synaptic that makes anybody recommend it"?  Apparently there
_isn't_ a good reason to use it, because every time I ask I get either no
answers or misdirections like this.
