Took me 2 months to receive the free hoary cd's. I was excited once I
got them because I wanted to give away the professional cd's and also
do a little evangalizing for Linux. I am extremely greatful that there
are people out there that will truly give you something for free and
not expect anything in return. I checked my mailbox almost daily
hoping for the cd's and at times got a little restless but I think
it's a little disheartening to think that just because I signed up I
am entitled to the cd's. I wouldn't go booking any LUG meetings around
the delivery of them, that is just plain rude. The cd's will come when
they come and when they do they are a gift. The only thing we had to
sacrifice to get them was the time it took for us to receive them in
the mail. To get angry that the process is long and involved is pretty
pointless and is pretty much a slap in the face to the very people
that are giving us professionally burned copies of the distro we love
for absolutely no charge.
I don't know about the rest of you guys but I got 20 copies. I wonder
how much 20 copies would cost to make and ship. I'm greatful that I
received them for free. I really truly thank Canonical for that!
