I don't know if this applies to anyone, but I have solved a very 
annoying hard freeze problem that I thought I should share. If you own a 
thunder k7, which you operate with 2 cpus and a smp kernel, it appears 
that you  cannot also use a pci video card (including the onboard). 
Doing so causes distortion in audio playback whenever the display is 
used aggressivly, problems with scsi and usb adapters, and most 
annoyingly, FREEZES that occur randomly.

I have tried every bios setting, many difference kernels, including 
custom ones, numerous video cards, different sound and usb cards, and 
the only common denominator is having a pci video card displaying an X 
display. Thats when the freezes happen. I have also tried napic, 
nolapic, turning off acpi, etc etc.

Hopefully this helps someone out there.
