I suspect most of the Ubuntu people who can moderate there are in Sydney
this week at the Ubuntu conference, too busy to go on that channel, and
currently all on the exact time zone.  And just before that, with the
Hoary release, things were hectic as well.

The need for moderators for #ubuntu was going to be discussed at the
last Community meeting
(http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/CommunityCouncilAgenda), and I suspect
it will discussed in more detail at the next meeting (actual date still
not announced)
