Sound card test?

THAT has given me system alerts and mpeg access (though there is some sampling 
rate mismatch - the sound has "gaps" and "catch-ups").  Thanks. 
But the CD still doesn't work.  :-(  That _could_ be something simple like a 
loose connection between the CDROM and sound card.  Short of taking the case 
off _again_ is there a simple way to check (Thinks ... almost certainly a 
silly question).  I guess KsCD would be quite ignorant of the result of its 
output?
