yeah kinda funny, I've also noticed that. you can get the .96 version
from here
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680

unfortunately hoary has only an older oo2 beta version. But this one
works also fine. Just downlod, unpack the deb files from the archive
and with sudo dpkg -i *.deb install all the deb files from the archive.
