Hi all,
thanks, been to
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Epson-LQ-500

same driver that is in the printer list.
Sorry linuxprinting.org, it does not work.Tried Gimp print, no
drivers for dot matrix there (understandable).
Will check out Samba, a bit of a learning curve, will have a go.
Just don't understand why it's in every distro's list, when no one
can get it to work. Was a very popular printer in it's day,
works very well with windows. Had a couple of system admins, and debian
experts on it, Why leave it on all the lists?
Thanks again,
Take Care
Winton
