It is very easy to operate on groups of sequential files using the
command line. So easy that I'd never consider using a gui to operate on
them. In 3 years using KDE I never bothered using Konqueror for file
manipulation. Now using Ubuntu I'm still just as happy to ignore
Nautilus. In Linux of course I have the choice to do just that. I'd be
trying to avoid having folders with thousands of files in them though.
