FWIW provided you are on x86 there are Debian packages for current
development versions of OOo in the subdirectories of:
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680

I installed the M96 packages on my kubuntu box last night and they seem
to work fine.
