I don't know Bob, I have never used Woody, and I don't have your
computer and set up etc.
I have been using Warty for 7 months now, however. If I "want" a sure
way to crash it, at least on my machine, all I have to do is log out,
and log back in again. It then goes all over the place and it's most
adviseable to reboot the machine to start from a clean sheet...
Thank god I don't really have to do that, being a simple single user
machine. Sure, if I let it idle doing nothing, it won't collapse under
it's own weight, but then, what use is an OS if you don't use apps on
it, and just stare at the desktop all day long ?

I had hoped Hoary would make logging out/in smooth, but no luck. Now
trying Breezy, hoping for the best and expecting th..... ;-)

I think the Nvidia 3D drivers might be partly responsible, but still
it's part of the OS as far as the end user is concerned.

Maybe it will get better, once Nvidia makes "open source" friendly"
cards, so that the community can fine tune/tweak their own driver, until
it all works perfectly smoothly...for everyone, not just Bob and
Woody ;o)
