The 'single instance' solution is what I've been running. I haven't
seen any problems either, but I'm a little nervous about the number of
changelog entries for MailScanner that are related to 'surprise'
changes in postfix. I'm not saying it doesn't work, and I still favor
the MailScanner solution in principle, but, in practice, having a
stable solution based on well documented interfaces would go a long
way to making me feel comfortable about the reliability of my email
subsystem.

amavisd-new seems to be a reasonable replacement - it has the
feature-set I'm looking for, and it does use a slightly more stable
interface to postfix..

	Thanks,
