The original question was a valid query, not a personal attack (if there 
possibly can be such as thing for a computer operating system) upon 
Linux. Windows has placed many hooks in the OS to enable fast-start of 
apps; these hooks come at a price, some of which may not be worthwhile. 
But let's not haul out the pitchforks and nooses over a simple question. 
Sheesh.
