Ah ha! That sounds like a simple, clean, workable way to do it.

The only possible problem would be am OO.o memory leak. I 
have left OO.o writer open for a long time in Windows with no
problem, but I have little Linux experience with OO.o. 

I look forward to trying this. 

As soon as my music jobs dwindle down and I get DSL installed 
(week after next) I'll be installing Ubuntu and OO.o.  

I will Google search for the OO.o 2.0 beta debs.
