Open Office Quick Start

Has anyone found an OpenOffice.org Quick Start for 
Ubuntu or other Debian based distribution?

A Google search for OpenOffice.org Quick Start locates 
references to QS for Gnome and KDE. 

Here is a URL for one such applet:
http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-ooqs/
but the author says it isn't 100% yet.

Anyone have experience with such an applet that actually 
works well? Especially with Ubuntu or KUbuntu? That 
will help me to decide whether to go with Ubuntu 
(Gnome) or KUbuntu (KDE).
