Wonderful install experience

Some people might have seen my questions regarding what laptops have
good Linux support. I can now report a real success story :-)
In the end I went with a Toshiba M35X-S149. The following web page
helped me make up my mind:

The only thing I was a bit worried about was the internal modem. I am
currently living in an area with no broadband access (still waiting for
BT to get their ass into gear ;-) so getting the modem working under
Linux was rather important. In the end it seems my worries were
unfounded. Hoary installed beautifully, and with sl-modem-daemon and
wvdial I am now able to send this email from my new laptop :-)
Ubuntu is a wonderful thing!

Software is not manufactured, it is something you write and publish.
Keep Europe free from software patents, we do not want censorship
by patent law on written works.
Hard work may not kill me, but why take the chance.
