securing gnome logoff

To disable the hibernate option from that logout menu, you can edit
the /etc/default/acpi-support and comment out this line:
ACPI_HIBERNATE=true

To disable the shutting down and rebooting from both the logout menu and
the gdm login menu:
System --> Administration --> Login Screen Setup  and in the Security
tab, unselect "Show action menu"
