I've got Verizon and the Westell 2200. With Linux, it JustWorks (tm) :)

The stuff on the CD is for setting up a lot of windows stuff that you don't 
need. Totally unnecessary.

Plug it into the ethernet jack and boot up. Point your browser at 192.168.1.1. 
You should be at your modem's config page. Call Verizon tech support and tell 
them you need to set up your account manually. They'll walk you through 
getting your DSL connection up and running.
