It's a file here. Infact, 'auxv' is a file in all process folders.
But, chances are since you've already admitted you're a newbie, you
might have done something to change its behaviour.
My advice would be to stay out of /proc, especially when dealing with
system level processes (1). If you want to be nosey and learn what's
in there, do it on processes your own user is running and not ones
that require 'root' powers to read or look at.
