TV Program - first experiences

Hi, i'm using Ubuntu with universe, multiuniverse and marillat
repositories.
The first i tried is to install freevo and this is the result:

root at hada:/home/manou/Mis descargas/freevo/freevo-1.5.3 # python
setup.py install
checking for mmpython...   not found
please download it from http://www.sf.net/projects/mmpython and install
it

Then i have gone there and i have download the tgz. After unpacked i try
to install it and...

root at hada:/home/manou/Mis descargas/freevo/mmpython-0.4.8 # python
setup.py install
running install
running build
running build_py
running build_ext
building 'mmpython/disc/cdrom' extension

unable to execute gcc: No such file or directory

This is really strange since i have cdrommodule at the properly place as
you can see in the next ls output:
root at hada:/home/manou/Mis descargas/freevo/mmpython-0.4.8/disc # ll
