[Hoary] - HP Deskjet printer does not work

I made a clean install of kubuntu 5.04 / hoary. After having set up my
HP Deskjet 5550 printer I can not even print a  test page. Here is an
extract from the cupsd error log file:

I suppose that the problem is linked to the writing to /dev/fd/3,
because the above gs command executes without any problems from the
command line, with /dev/fd/3 replaced by temp.txt and /dev/fd/0 by any
postscript file.
