Lindsay I can vouch for poor all-in-one device support in Linux. It's
frustrating but this is mainly due to hardware vendors that design
with only windows in mind. You should at least be able to get the
print features of your hardware working. linuxprinting.org should be
able to generate a cups print driver for your printer if you head to
the site that Mike suggested.
