can't print with firefox

What theme are you using?  If you are using Glider or SmoothGnome, then
there is a bug in the SmoothGnome engine that crashes Firefox when the
print dialog box tries to display.



It is supposed to be fixed in the latest release of gnome theme engines
package but that wasn't included in Hoary.



Hopefully that's your problem and changing themes should fix it.  Good
